BUSINESS NEED
“When I first joined the company I knew that there must be a more efficient solution to our energy usage,” stated Pim Borremans head of electrical maintenance since 2008. The Grave Shipyard facility has 4 large halls each with 48 HID lamps operating between 55-65 hours per week. He continued “these lighting fixtures are consuming a lot of electricity; however the LED and fluorescent light solutions available do not provide us with enough illumination. Our ceilings are 8 meters in height and work requires excellent lighting conditions.
LEC SOLUTION & BENEFITS
“The industry specialist from HyTeps recommended the LEC energy efficiency controllers, simple and quick to install, they not only cut our electric costs but also eliminated any maintenance required. We did not even have to replace any of our existing lamps and the illumination level was not affected at all- all of which was very beneficial,” explained Pim Borremans.
RESULTS
Grave Shipyard enjoys an immediate 21% reduction in energy costs at complete of installation along with 20% extension on the lifetime of all lighting fixtures.
To conclude, Pim Borremans commented on the company’s responsibility to the environment by stating, “we are also very proud that with this energy efficiency solution Grave Shipyards undertakes a strong contribution to a greener environment.”
