21 May 2009Power Electronics Commits to Promoting Energy Efficiency in Motor Driven Systems using the SinuMEC (Sinusoidal Motor Efficiency Controller)
Tel Aviv, Israel, May 21, 2009 — Power Electronics Systems (2006) Ltd, a global provider of energy efficiency solutions for motor and lighting applications, announced today the acceptance in the European Motor Challenge Programme, an initiative promoted by the European Commission. Power Electronics has joined the program under the “endorser” status, a supplier of industrial motor efficiency solutions for motor driven systems.
The Motor Challenge Programme is a European Commission initiative to aid industrial companies in improving the energy efficiency of their electric Motor Driven Systems. Improving the efficiency with which energy is consumed by end-users is a central theme of energy policy within the European Community.
Power Electronics’ SinuMEC - Sinusoidal Motor Efficiency Controller - is a new category of AC motor controllers that improves efficiency of motors running at constant speeds with variable/partial load. Built around patented technology, the SinuMEC provides a pure SINUSOIDAL voltage waveform for motor start and during normal operation.
“The SinuMEC is the new category of motor efficiency controllers that will aid any enterprise or organization in defining and carrying out an Action Plan, to reduce energy related operating expenses, while improving reliability.” states Eng. Amir Broshi, SinuMEC Product Manager, Power Electronics, “By joining this program, we are furthering our commitment to industrial motor efficiency and reduced energy consumption in the European Communities.”
SinuMEC systems can be applied to industrial equipment in manufacturing plants, mines and quarries and process industry and are available in a range of 7.5kW/10HP to 150kW/200HP. The SinuMEC has been successfully installed in conveyors, bucket elevators, mills, presses, crushers, flakers, grinders and granulators.
